Dastan is pleased to announce the opening of Ali Beheshti’s solo exhibition titled “Insensible” at Dastan’s Basement. The exhibition will be open for public viewing from May 12 through May 19, 2017. This is Ali Beheshti’s first solo exhibition at Dastan. His work has been previously featured in “Agog” curated by Aidin Xankeshipour in a Dastan:Outside project at V-Cafe’s Basement and a number of group drawing exhibitions. Ali Beheshti (b. 1988, Qom, Iran) has focused deeply on new experiments in drawing using a wide variety of materials. By mixing familiar techniques, including multiple thin layers of graphite powder, ink and pencil, with more unconventional approaches, such as print transfers, the artist has created drawings that have the appearance of three-dimensional works. “Insensible” is a series of works which Ali Beheshti started in 2015. They are as much independent as a continuation of his previous explorations in drawing and painting. Residing in Talesh County in the north of Iran for about five months between 2012 and 2013, he was heavily influenced by the mystical nature of this region. This affected the color palette and atmosphere of his works. Starting with abstract landscapes, he gradually included different objects in his works, drawing inspirations from the play of light in this region. Ali Beheshti’s drawings were originally “studies of objects in the foreground of abstractions aimed towards taking away the fundamental properties of these objects and putting them in isolation.” Nevertheless, while both his drawings and oil color paintings developed in form, approach and technique, he felt “that in nothingness, the objects revealed their selfsufficiency again”. On this series, the artist writes: “something appears in something else’s clothes; it shows itself only to hide.”

دسـتان بـرگـزاری نـمایشگاه انـفرادی علی بهشـتی بـا عـنوان «نـامـحسوس» در زیرزمین دسـتان را اعـلام میکند. این نـمایشگاه در روز ۲۲ اردیبهشت ۱۳۹۶ افـتتاح و تـا ۲۹ این مـاه ادامـه خـواهـد داشـت. این اولین نـمایشگاه انـفرادی آثـار علی بهشـتی در دسـتان اسـت. آثـار او پیش از این در نـمایشگاه «بی تـاب»، بـه انـتخاب آیدین خـانکشی پـور، در زیرزمین ویکافـه (از پروژههای بیرون از دستان) و چند نمایشگاه گروهی طراحی به نمایش درآمده اند. علی بهشـتی (م. ۱۳۶۷ ،قـم) در چـند سـال اخیر بـه طـور عمیقی بـر روی تجـربـه هـای جـدید در طـراحی، بـا اسـتفاده از مـواد مـتنوع تـمرکز کرده اسـت. او بـا تـرکیب تکنیک هـای مـعمول، مـانـند لایه هـای نـازک مـتعدد پـودر گـرافیت، جـوهـر و مـداد، بـا رویکردهـای نـامـعمول تـر، هـمانـند تـرانـسفر چـاپ جـوهـرافـشان بـا تینر، آثـاری بـا خـاصیتهـایی هـمچـون تـصاویر سـه بـعدی میسازد. «نـامـحسوس» مجـموعـه ای از آثـار مـربـوط بـه سـال ۱۳۹۵ علی بهشـتی اسـت. این آثـار هـمانقـدر که مسـتقل انـد، امـتدادی از کنکاشهـای قبلی او در طـراحی و نـقاشی هسـتند. او که در سـال ۱۳۹۲ تـقریباً بـه مـدت پـنج مـاه در مـنقطه ی تـالـش زنـدگی میکرد، بـه شـدت تـحت تـأثیر طبیعت پـر رمـز و راز آن قـرار گـرفـت. این تجـربـه، پـالـت رنگی و فـضای آثـار او را دگـرگـون کرد. او که در ابـتدا بـا مـناظـر آبسـتره کارش را شـروع کرد، در آثـارش بـه تـدریج بـه سـمت فـرم و ابـژه پیش رفـت، و از بـازیهـای نـور در مـنطقه ی تـالـش الـهام گـرفـت. طـراحی هـای علی بهشـتی در آغـاز «مـطالـعه ای روی اشیاء در پیشزمینه های آبسـتره بـودنـد، تـا بـتوان آنهـا را از خـواص اصلی شـان عـاری کرد و در فـضایی عـدمگـونـه قـرار داد.» بـا این وجـود، بـا رسیدن این آثـار بـه فـرم، رویکرد و تکنیک ویژه ی خـود، هـنرمـند احـساس کرد که «در عـدم، این اشیاء دوبـاره خـودبـسنده بـودنشـان را آشکار کردنـد.» او دربـاره ی این مجـموعـه مینـویسد: «چیزی در لـباس چیز دیگری ظـاهـر میشـود؛ چهـره مینـماید تـا خـودش را پنهان کند.»
